专家解读一：在美国大学眼中，你是转学生吗?
这是我们最先要考虑的问题，也是很多学生都不清楚的问题。由于美国没有任何一个机构去规范大学里的规章制度和招生制度，所以在转学生身份的判断上，各大学的要求也是五花八门。
范德宝大学Vanderbilt University对转学生的定义是学生必须要完成至少12个学分的课程才能被视为转学生Student must have completed at least 12 semester hours of credit to be considered for transfer。这相当于一个学期的课程。
宾夕法尼亚大学University of Pennsylvania在其网站上对转学生的定义是转学生要在入读学年的春季至少要完成一整年的可接受转学分的课程At least one full year of transferable academic coursework (8 courses) must be completed by the close of the spring term prior to the September of anticipated enrollment at Penn。
而圣路易斯华盛顿大学的要求则相对宽松，You have finished secondary school and completed some college study。
最后来看一下备受中国学生青睐的加州大学伯克利分校对于转学生的定义：想要转学进入加州伯克利大学，学生要在入读学年的春季获得不低于60个UC系统认可的可转学分，这通常需要完成前两年的大学课程Eligibility for transfer requires completion of a minimum of 60 UC-transferable semester units by the end of the spring semester before you begin study at UC Berkeley. This usually equals to two years of full-time post-secondary study。注意，这里说的60个学分，是UC系统认可的可转学分。
所以我们说，本科转学是所有美国大学申请中最复杂、最多样化的申请。
